The eighth child of Willie Mae French-McMillian, Fred French, Sr. and Walter Stutson, Sr., born in Birmingham, Alabama, but was reared in Sumter County, in the small town of Epes, and Gainesville, Alabama, by a praying God-Fearing Grandmother (Dora Little).

Received formal education in the Sumter County School System, where historically she was one of the first seven to be used by the Sumter County Movement for Human Rights, NAACP and SCLC to integrate Livingston High School in 1966. During this experience she met Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., personally. This was a very challenging experience and was not done without conflict. Upon moving to Birmingham, Alabama in March of 1968, enrolled in Carver High School and graduated with honors in 1971. She is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and the University Of Alabama Law Enforcement Academy.

A 34 year veteran (Retired) Detective Sergeant of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Birmingham, Alabama. Retired as Supervisor of the Narcotics’ Division and The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force as a Narcotics’ Investigator. She is the recipient of many distinguished awards, and accolades, from Local, State, National and International Law Enforcement Organizations for her outstanding performance and contribution concerning Law Enforcement. She is a dedicated, compassionate and well-respected servant who has worked hard to keep our streets and communities safe.

A baptized born believer in Christ, who was taught at an early age the importance of having Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She is an active member of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, where Reverend Dr. R. L. Patterson, is the Pastor. In the Peace Baptist District Missionary Association: she serves as ithe newly appointed President of the Women’ Auxiliary, past Youth Director, works with the Matrons and is an Instructor in the Peace Baptist Congress of Christian Education. She is Matrons’ Counselor for the Northwest District State Convention. She is past Parliamentarian for Alabama Baptist State Missionary Convention Women’s Auxiliary, where she serves currently as Treasurer. She is actively involved in the work of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. and the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education.

The mother of two wonderful daughters (Katurah & Angelena) and the grandmother of one precious granddaughter (Aaliyah). Has had to overcome many personal trials and tragedies, but takes no credit for it, but gives all the glory and honor to God and his unmerited favor. Realizes that only what you do for Christ will last and that it is important to know the Word of God, but you must LIVE it to reap the utmost benefit. MOTTO: IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY, AS I TRAVEL ALONG THIS WAY, THEN MY LIVING WILL NOT BE IN VAIN. A dedicated servant of God and a lover of people.
